Man...I've been slacking. My bad.
But in my defense...I have a new TV. My baby is hung by the mantle with care...and I love it! I need more HD channels!
Not much else has been going on...the painting and the TV took up most of my weekend. I'm looking forward to a slack weekend coming up. Might check out Artsplosure downtown...Most the stuff is too expensive for my budget...but I've been hankering for some Cooper's BBQ and its downtown, too.
I need to start bringing the living room together....stuff for the walls and cool stuff for the built in's shelves. My sister bought me new kitchenware...but not sure when they are coming to check out the pad. Hopefully by Memorial Day. I told my niece to tell her "Nanny" to buy Unka Dave a Wii.....I've no shame. In the weekends to come...I'm hoping to paint that one wall in my bedroom and maybe put in a ceiling fan in the upstairs hallway/walkway....but we'll see....
Back to my slacking...here's this week's last.fm chart...
Nobody really new except for Estelle. Not my usual thing...but I likey nonetheless...

Dirt is one of those look at it/say it a few times and it begins to look/sound strange. Or maybe that's just me.
Gah....guess which item on my 'punch list' (in post below) didn't get done yesterday. I'll give you a hint. The TV.
I've been a member of Costco for over a year and have never had a problem...till I rolled up there at 6:11pm all stoked to buy a TV. What kind of Mom and Pop bullshit is it to close at 6pm on a freakin' SATURDAY!?!?! Who owns these mother fuckers? Chik-Fil-A? Sheeesh! I'll be there at 10am with bells on!
The painting is finished. Eh...guess it came out ok. I need a day or two to adjust (and try to get used to some of the less than perfect spots.)
My laptop's external speakers decided to stop working. No big deal because I prefer to listen through headphones when on the 'puter...unless its a sign of things to come. I'll be a stressed out dork if I can't watch Eastenders every day ('cept Wednesdays) It's my crack and I can't go cold turkey. I'm gonna ask some of the IT dudes at work to see if they think its a sound card issue and if they can hook me up...
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommies!
- I've been slack...very slack. Sorry Vox Fam.
- Had a stomach bug all of last weekend...didn't make for the bestest time
- Too many thing to do on a Saturday like:
- Drop dogs off at vet for baths
- Hair cut
- Grocery store
- Swap regular DVR for HD DVR (assuming Time Warner has some...sheeesh!?!)
- PAINT LIVING ROOM
- Purchase flat screen TV
- I wish I could hit FF on my remote and watch from my living room being painted from a camera mounted on the ceiling. The walls are primed....got that out of the way yesterday. I'm afraid the color will suck (Pictures are a probability)
- The possibility of a flat screen as reward is the light at the end of my tunnel.
- Cecil is coming around! He doesn't run away when I approach him...its more a trot. Progress! We've even had a couple of sessions of good pet loving. I think he missed his rub downs. I've gotten him to come downstairs once or twice, too. (by slowing moving down the stairs...sitting down...giving him a rub down and then moving down a couple of stairs and repeating)
- It's coffee time
- It's music time
So as a reminder...plan on seeing this post bumped every Saturday.
Play it loud and play it often. Enjoy your Saturday!
UPDATE (10/6) After a month of slackness...its BACK! And have added a new song used in last week's mp3eme VOX....a little Scooby Doo for your Saturday morn'....sorry Mook!)
Got any Saturday songs? Share'um!
- Found a tick on my wrist while at work today...FREAKED me out. GROSS! YUCK! PATOOEY! I told a coworker who had been outside with me so at least I wasn't the only one freaking and twitching.
- My mom's house was broken into this morning. Dude. What's with me and my family and our worldly possessions (see Dave's Breakin Breakdown here [middle of post])? They only took her new flat screen TV and minimal damage. She's in that pissed as hell/somebody invaded my space phase. Security will be installed early next week and the back door is being fixed as we speak...Poor Mommy.
- Bought tickets for King Khan 6/30 on Sunday. Mommy calls yesterday and is taking the family for a week to Williamsburg/Busch Gardens. They leave 6/29. Grr.
- Tomorrow is Friday. Yay!
- Random tune I uploaded earlier this week but never posted:
September, I hope!
Lots of newbies this week as I've had a chance to check out some newbie stuff. Digging what I'm hearing of the new Kooks...The Last Shadow Puppets is good (Alex from Arctic Monkeys/Miles of The Rascals) but the album isn't something I can listen to all at once.
Decided on the Cajun Dance Party. Not to be confused with Dance Party USA (whatever happened to Princess?...Kelly Ripa was on that, ya know. As was a coworker at one of my old TV stations...who actually had video but wouldn't share! Not as good as Club MTV...wubba wubba wubba...but lots of fun to laugh at...
But I digress...

I really tried hard to sleep in but dammit...didn't work. Sometimes being a creature of habit sucks.
Today? It's Sunday so that means Laundry. I *think* I may have a color picked out for the living room but want to go back to Lowe's to double check some other possibilities. I also have to get gas....which I seriously dread these days. ugh. I also have to go to Starbucks...no dread there.
Watched I Am Legend last night. Was pretty good. As an animal lover I didn't like certain things but overall it was decent....and not 2 1/2 freakin' hours long...which gets it another point.
The rest of the day? More music searching....more reading (finished the Civil War book....eh, was ok. Now giving David Morrell's Scavenger a shot. I liked Creepers well enough...I think) and more couch.
crankypants tells me that King Khan and The Shrine are touring this summer!! So of course I went searching for info. Nothing yet on the tour. Most info I can find is from early April when it was announced they'd signed to Vice Records. They are also releasing a 'greatest hits' album in June with what was called tracks that have been unreleased in the US...but I see a few in the track list that I have and I bought What If!?! from Amazon...
Anyway...here's the freebie track they're handing out. Enjoy while I continue chanting "they must come to Raleigh/The Triangle"...OH...and one article says they've toured with Black Lips before. Can you imagine? *thud*
