What a hoot to hear that again! I don't know the actual date of release but it was 1976 for sure when it hit #1 on the charts and stayed there a long time -- something I remember because of some indelible connections between this song and what was going on in my life that year.
I also remember listening to it on a huge console stereo with studio quality headphones and how slick it was that the "skyrocket" effect was mixed so it sounded like it went through, your head and then over the top of it.
