Thank god its Friday...cause not sure I could take another day...
Not that that work week has been that bad but me home lappy crashed last night and took a good 3 hours to get everything back to 'normal'...and I now will try my damndest to back up once a week (beep beep beep)...The last back up I did was at the beginning of July...but luckily I've been slacking with adding music so didn't lose a lot and most the pics I lost I can resave via Flickr.
Let this be a lesson...back that ass computer up!
Last Thursday I opened Firefox and noticed I had been logged out of all of my regular sites...No big deal, I figured it might just be because I had just installed an update for Spysweeper..but its happened every time since then...even with Spysweeper closed...so its not that...and none of my settings in Firefox have been changed.
I used Spybot thinking I had some kind of trojan/virus/bug/pain in the ass....but it found nothing.
The weirdest thing is visiting technorati....almost every time I visit I'm auto logged in as somebody else...If I were a prick...I could really fuck somebody up. I keep trying to log in as myself but it doesn't like my password. I've tried all my usual ones and nada...
Sooo....any tech peeps out there.....what does that sound like? A trojan/virus/bug/pain in the ass that nothing has picked up yet?
Help!
I present to you...
Skreemer - I've only done a few searches but have been very impressed with the results...
Just head to the link above and starting searching....it'll come back with blog results...
Yeah...The Hype Machine is still my first choice...but Skreemer seems to find things that the HM just doesn't have...so Skreemer will be added to my Bookmark bar soon as I get home (right beside The HM and Sonicx)
...and who knows....there may be a ton of other great music search sites...I just happened upon this one after seeing it listed at Simple Spark....which is a great catalog of web applications sorted by different genres/categories. And not a bad time waster, either. :)
I've been wanting to do this for the past year...but I'm chicken...and really afraid I'll fuck something up...so bad that my 'puter'll be toast.
Anybody know of a good online tutorial with step by step (and I do mean step by step...details, people...I need details) instructions on what to do?
My lappy is so freakin' slow and I've tried a few tweaks and the usual disk cleanup/defrag... but nothing really makes a big difference. I remember when I first got it....so fast to start up and move around....but now she's a bit grandma-ish (no offense to the grannies!) and I'd like to start *almost* fresh with just the stuff I want to keep.
Any help is greatly appreciated and would stop me from making bad jokes about floppy disks becoming hard drives.....heh.
From Lost Remote:
Every so often a new technology product comes along (like the iPhone) that’s just downright cool. Microsoft Surface (video) fits that category. It’s a tabletop computer that responds to touch, and it identifies and downloads (or uploads) content from handheld devices placed on top of it. You can manipulate photos, watch video, play games and surf the web on a 30-inch screen. Only catch? It’ll cost between $5,000 and $10,000, so Microsoft will debut Surface in hotels and casinos to start. But the applications are endless. “The practical uses for Surface at the point of sale are broad,” writes TechCrunch. “This is touch screen point-of-sale technology at a new level.”
