This outstanding weather we've had all week has made me even more of a slacker... My 'pologies...
I have bunnies! Lucy found these guys yesterday...I don't know much about bunny rabbits (other than I want to hug them...and kiss them...and make them my very own.) I hope Mama Rabbit hasn't deserted them.
They are so teeny! And I'm quite sure they want to be my friend!
Other than that...I've been chilling as usual. Listening to music, reading (getting ready to start Utopia by Lincoln Child) and spending way too much time on Facebook.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods...Even if I haven't been posting I always swing by for a peek into your worlds. I may be lazy...but noseyness doesn't take much effort.
due to a chronic case of laziness...
Sucky:
- Hanna F'n up Raleigh Wide Open on Friday night. Missed another chance to see Arrested Development (granted the first time was 15 or so years ago) and Chuck Barry. And too unmotivated yesterday to head down for Soul Asylum. Would have been a good picture takin' opportunity, though...
- Palin as George
'sBush in a skirt. Not only do we have to worry about her taking over when McCain croaks...she'll bring with her the same crap that made Georgie so popular. Hateful bitch that she is...Leave the stand up routine to Tina Fey(gawd please let her guest host on SNL this year!) - Chores like backyard Poop Patrol after lots and lots of rain.
- Returning to work after another 3 day weekend
- short term memory loss
- Boredom...when lazy feels like work.
Ducky:
- Hope
- ackin' a fool and dancing around the yard listening to the iPod while on Poop Patrol. #1...#2...cha cha cha...
- New and returning TV shows...woot! The Shield, Sons of Anarchy last week and True Blood (tonight!), Fringe among others this week
- Reading a great book (zoomed through "Good People" by Marcus Sakey yesterday. Ending was a bit hokey but he's one of my favorite new crime authors.)
- People watching. I honed my skills while skipping class in college and sitting outside the Student Store. Cloudy days can make it tough for some...but not me.
- Speaking of college....ECU kickin' West Virginia ass yesterday! 2 and awwwww, yeah...I mean, O
- Hearing songs I know I know...but don't know how I know them. Can't remember the last time I heard this and its from '82 and not one I remember in regular rotation on MTV...
Possible:
- Check out Art On The Edge
- Take award winning photographs
- Win Powerball
- Download and play new Ratchet and Clank PS3 game
Probable:
- Trip the library
- Ride around in Jeep wasting expensive gas
- Swing by Starbucks
- Ingesting food of some sort...grilled chicken is in the cards
- Start Sedaris' new book
- Being the best lazy good for nothing douche I can be
- Listen to new (to me music) and find out more about Rox (from Mark Ronson 'land')
Things not to be accomplished today:
- anything related to or resembling work
Things to accomplish today
- haircut
- swap out cable modem for new shiny model
- return/pick up reserved books from library
- take photos...place/time to be determined
- enjoy the beautimous weather - mid 80s/low humidity. Slept with the windows open last night! I have some very happy kitties!
- do some reading, photoshopping, eating, drinking and Olympics watching
- listen to some new (to me) music
- The maternal one spilled the beans about her internetal romance. She's supposedly down a background check...but I personally doubt it. They've only talked on the phone for 3 weeks. 3 weeks! Wouldn't tell me how longt they've been chatting. Also wouldn't tell me how old he is...."he's younger than me"... I asked her to covertly grab a glass he's used so we can grab DNA/fingerprints. She was not amused.
- In other less gaggy news...some things I would have shared earlier in the day if The Man wasn't a web control freak..think I saw this first one on Neatorama...maybe.
An interactive view of the all the memes that swept across the internet and burrowed in our zeitgeist. Built from Wikipedia and Memelabs, open for you to add and maintain.
- This will probably only be of interest to Trianglites...but very cool. A former DJ has started an internet radio station dedicated to local bands from the 80s/90s. And there's also a site full of old music videos from local communtiy TV shows. Sex Police, Dillon Fence, Archers of Loaf, the db's...filmed at places like Cat's Cradle, Local 506 and even The Brewery...More info can be found in this N&O article...and here a little sumpin' from the early 90s....
Didn't do much yesterday....grocery shopping, trip to Costco and a short trip downtown to take some pics.
It had been months since I pick up the camera and so the battery died not long after I got there. Brilliant! So...I came home...found the battery charger and let it do its thang. Got up this morning and went back out. Not too impressed with what I shot...but I haven't transferred them yet so hoping there's some good stuff in there somewhere...You'll be the 2nd to know. I also reupp'd my Pro account with Flickr...hoping that spending the $$$ will also motivate me to take more photee graphs.
For lunch I'm gonna whip up some spicy sausage dip.(Cream cheese, chilies/habaneros and Neese's Hot Sausage) Yum!
Also hoping to start a new book at some point today....John Connolly's The Book of Lost Things.
Can't decide if I'm going to watch Mad Men tonight or download and watch it tomorrow on the 'puter....Hmmmm....I need to remember to also check HD On Demand...maybe there were just really slow last week. If you missed the 2nd season premiere...I hear its on Hulu...
I downloaded a bunch of new(to me) music yesterday...after I gorge out on some dip...I'm gonna plop down at the kitchen table, tinker with my new pictures and listen to some tunes....I also need to remember to pick up this CD next time I go music shopping. I've only heard a few songs randomly...but I like everything so far....esp. "23" and this track:
I thought for sure I'd sleep in today...not so.
I thought this because I was pretty worn out from my whirlwind visit home yesterday. Playing with the nieces...even for just a couple of hours wears old Unka Dave out. Add to that a big ole meal at Itchiban for the birthdays and I assumed I'd be in a sleep coma till at least 8am. Oh well....things to do, dogs to walk, blah blah blah...
Heading to the library to return some books. I still have a ton so I'll renew the unread ones online. Not sure if I'll pick anything else up.
I have to cut the grass (after a poop patrol) and do some light (very light) cleaning cause a friend from the beach is coming to stay tomorrow night. Heather has some kind of real estate class to take here in Raleigh so she'll bunk down here for the night. She hasn't seen the house yet so that'll be fun (as will the Housewarming gifts...awwwww, yeah!)
If its not raining/threatening to rain...I'm heading downtown this evening for the freebie Connells show (Old 97s are also playing) Can't wait! I'd love to take pictures but they only allow disposal cameras....which is stupid considering I doubt anybody could make any $$$$ on pictures of any these groups. Oh well...still should be fun to people watch.
Have a good'un!
Ok...I'll give this whole thing a shot....maybe it'll improve my mood...
Things I Loathe:
- Rain b/w 4 and 5pm on a weekday...Hello! I have to walk my dogs....and having flipped in a VW Beetle when I was a freshman in college DURING the rain doesn't make for a calm drive home
- Gas prices
- Doing things I don't want to do because I'm too polite and nice (shocking to those that know me IRL)
- Eastenders and/or Corrie not being available for download yet
Things I Don't Loathe:
- Facebook Status Updates....addicted.
- Facebook, in general....catching up with so many peeps!
- The animals
- Taco Bell Baja Beef Gorditas
Ok...that's enough for a first timer....baby steps, yo.
I knew Saturday was going to be so boring that I didn't even post...Hung out with the dogs, did a little reading/listening to music...blah blah blah. I did end up watching Hairspray...which was better than I expected.
Man...some whacked out dreams last night!...From my father and his family dying in an accident (and then it turning ut to be a hoax....to a mixture of high school people working at the same place I do now....all were very freaky. I don't feel like doing laundry! Just want to chill out with more nothingness and try to catch up on a few more eppies of Mad Men. I should be all set for next weekend's season premiere. It was good to see if it get so many Emmy nominations (but I have to pull for Damages because it and Glenn Close rocked!)
Least I have a short week coming up....even if it is only 1/2 day on Friday. Heading to the maternal ones for the birthday dinner. I think we're going to some Japanese steakhouse. I went out yesterday and got gift for both she and the niece (who's 4th birthday was yesterday). With the price of gas, I should wrap the gas receipt and give that to her, too...heh.
Think I'm going to bust out and make some spicey sausage dip to much on throughout the day. It's veruh guud and veruh easy to make. I also want to bust out the camera and take some pictures since its been so long...but can't think of anything/anywhere inspiring...and its gonna be hot as donkey balls. I have vaguely figured out which pics I want to have printed and framed (at least for the living room) but not sure of the size or how I want to arrange them.
Oh...and I might start this today or tomorrow (ha!)...I was a bit bummed when it turned out to not be 'do 100 situps in 6 weeks' instead of '100 situps at a time in 6 weeks'...but still might give this a shot...emphasis on 'might'. I'm telling ya....the gut is getting out of control...and the man boobies, too. Either that or I'm suddenly anorexic...which I doubt because when you start to 'feel' the difference in tying your shoes...you know the gut is expanding....
On that happy note...here's a band I've been digging lately....enjoy what's left of the weekend!
